This is not really an easy list to compile, as there are many great restaurants in Saigon. In fact Saigon is famous for it’s restaurant culture and for the excellent selection of top tier restaurants. Saigon is the perfect place for excellent eateries, nestled along the Saigon river and boasting excellent weather all the year around (except for a few times during the rainy season when it happens to rain during the dinner rush), it’s the nearly perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal outdoors the year around. So the restaurants here are not necessarily the best, but are a great cross section of what the town has to offer. Most locals and long term expats have their favorites and will swear by them, but whatever you like or however you like it, you can be sure to find it here in Saigon.
The Deck Saigon
The Deck Saigon sits beside the Saigon River and is a great example of a romantic outdoor restaurant where you can chill out beside the river and eat some amazing food. This is a type of restaurant that has begun to appear a lot in recent years and is always very popular. The best time to enjoy this great restaurant is right as the sun is setting and then you can enjoy great sunsets over the river. The food is a Pan-Asian western fusion with a number of unique dishes that you will only find here. It’s open all day, so you can enjoy it any time of the day. It also offers really amazing set lunches at a great price. The dinner is a little more expensive, but the quality more than matches the price. So come sit by the river and enjoy some great foods with your friends or family, or that special someone.

Quan An Ngon
This is a very popular restaurant in Saigon. It’s in an old manor house and is built on several levels. The rooms are all small and intimate with Vietnamese art adorning the walls. The staff are all dressed in traditional Vietnamese clothing called Aoi Da. On the ground floor is an ornate garden complete with a pool. The décor and atmosphere aside, the food here is all very delicious and is a potpourri of Vietnamese dishes. So if you want a comfortable, romantic place to eat some wonderful Vietnamese dishes, then you won’t do better than Quan An Ngon.

Carmargue is a refined French restaurant set in the courtyard of an old colonial-era opium factory. It’s a great place to chill out with friends and enjoy some tasty French cusine. The ambience is chic and urban. It’s centrally located and the prices are not too over the top. So if you want a little bit of Paris in Vietnam, then come to Camargue

This is the highest restaurant in the city, so if you like views while you eat, then this is the place to go. It’s aptly named as it’s located on the 51st floor of the Bitexco Tower in downtown Saigon. They offer a buffet with a wide range of culinary delights all prepared by chef Gabriel Boyer, a well-known and respected chef. The food is top rate and well worth the price. This is a must try for anyone visiting Saigon as it combines great food with stunning views of the city.

Shri Restaurant & Lounge
Another restaurant that offers great food with an amazing view with it’s floor to ceiling windows is Shri Restaurant & Lounge is set atop the Center Tower in downtown Saigon. The restaurant offers a relaxing open air layout that is perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring the city. The food is also offers a fine selection of Western dishes that are prepared by top chefs. The food is outstanding and just adds to the overall ambience of the place.
